I’m sitting here, by the open windows, enjoying the gentle, cool breeze floating in. I’m not foolish enough to believe that Spring is here for good. I’ve lived in northern Wisconsin long enough to know that we will see a few more snow flakes before May. But it is still nice to open my kitchen window before 11 am and to see more dead grass then snow.
I’m one of those people that love every season. About the time that one season is done, I’m ready for the next one. I don’t think I’d fair well in a place that only has 2 seasons. I’d be so bored! Although, it might be nice to only need one set of clothing. I try to wear most of my clothes year ’round, but the long sleeved, heavy tops just don’t do well in mid-July. And it seems that as the weather gets warmer (or colder), the children are in need of the next set of clothing. I’m looking forward to the time when they don’t need new clothes twice a year because of growth.
So, the snow banks are melting away, revealing all of the “stuff” that didn’t get put away or raked up. And at some point during this last winter, plastic figurines of Mary, Joseph and a wise man appeared in our back yard. While there was snow on the ground, I could forget about them (because they just “happened” to be buried). But now they are free and laying of the soggy ground. How in the world do I find who they belong to? And better still, how do I explain how they ended up in my yard?
Editors note: The figurines belong to my neighbor. And I cheated. I sent the girls out to ask if they belong to her.
