Even with a larger than average brood, home schooling, having a home business, and running a household, there is still time to play. Want to see the “toys” I’ve been playing with?
Okay, so Caleb isn’t a toy, but he sure is fun to play with! Isn’t his smile contagious?
Here is a baby quilt that I have been commissioned to make (my first!!!). The requestor didn’t care about the pattern or colors. It’s for a baby girl who is due Dec. 31. I’m not sure what led me to use such bright colors, for they are not what I usually gravitate towards, but I like how it looks together. It’s basted and ready to be quilted.
This is for a special someone who’s graduating from college soon. But they may read this, so it’s only a teaser for now.
I’ve been trying my hand at embroidery lately and I’m really enjoying it! I’m currently making a quilt for my mother in law with the individual embroidered squares. I have 5 done, with numbers 6, 7, and 8 in the process of being done (Maacah and Grace are helping me. They are doing a great job, too!!).
Here is the yummy fabric that I found to finish off her quilt. The print on top will be the sashing squares while the solid underneath it will be the sashing strips. The floral will be the back and the last solid (which is a slightly more dusty plumb color then the first one) will be the binding. I intend to have the done by Christmas.
A few weeks ago I told Adam that I am fed up with our ugly bathroom downstairs and that I’m going to paint it. He said since I’m going to be painting it now, that he better fix the bathtub faucet that has been dripping for years. He is almost done with that. I wanted to do something a little bit out of ordinary for me, so I picked an orangeish-tan color (called “toffee crunch”) for the walls and a light grey for the trim (we have grey tiles on the floor). I also wanted to bring in some other colors into the bathroom through a shower curtain and some things on the wall. Enter the large floral print in the center and the coordinating prints behind it. Again, not something that I would normally choose, but I’m enjoying “coloring out of the lines” so to speak.
This is a project that I am helping Maacah do(as little as possible). These circles will be appliqued onto a white sheet. Can you guess what it is?
