I’m really digging the color brown lately. That is a statement I never thought I’d say. It used to be that I hated the color brown, only liking it in a forest. But lately,…. I don’t know. I’m really starting to like it. I’m getting a good feel for grey too, but that’s another story.
Anyways, I’m still puttering away at those jumpers for the girls (I only have 1 more to go. Yippee! You’d think I was making 100 jumpers with as much time as it is taking me! Sheesh!! ). The last one that needed to make for Grace was out of a fabric of blue and brown dots. Now, I’m not all that crazy about dots, but her jumper turned out super cute! I was nervous about it at first. Thankfully I really like it!
I found a ribbon the perfect match of brown. I love how it looks! The bow turned out cute as well!
You can’t see it very well, since it blends in so nicely with her shirt, but I put some biased tape at the arm holes. It was double wide biased tape and I decided to leave a bit of it peaking out at the hem, since it matched the brown dots. We actually had a brown shirt in her closet that matched. Score!
I used large buttons so they wouldn’t get lost in the abundance of small dots. I also elected to do inverted pleats instead of gathering the waste. I love how inverted pleats look!
Here Grace is again, in all her freckled dotted glory!
I’m linking this up to November’s Celebrate Color under the wearable category. If you haven’t already, go check out all the really cool things that people are submitting. Go here for the home décor, yarn, and needlepoint. And for other great ideas, and a good read, check out the hostesses individual blogs: Rachel, Shannon, and Mollie.
I love brown ~ and it looks nice on Grace.
