We are Celebrating Color this season together with many other bloggers and it would be wonderful if you would join us!
I don’t have a favorite season. I love them all! Not all at once, of course, but usually 3 – 4 weeks before 1 season ends, I am ready for the next one. I absolutely LOVE living in a place where we have all 4 seasons.
I love the snow that comes in Winter, which allows us to go sledding, making snowmen, and gives us a very good excuse to stay indoors drinking a hot beverage! A season where we don’t feel guilty for snuggling up under a warm quilt, doing nothing if we choose.
I love the Spring, where the new growth of the trees and grass is a wonderful reminder of how God can take something that appears to be dead, and blow new life into it. After the white and gray of Winter, the bright greens, yellows, reds, and other colors are such a pretty sight. The warmth of the sun is a fabulous feeling after the cold of Winter.
I love the Summer, with it’s warm days and the equally warm, long nights. The sun shines a little longer and it’s rays make you want to stay out doors all day! Getting our hands dirty with the tending of our gardens, carefully watching for the plants to emerge and give forth their wonderful fruit is something to be treasured. Color is everywhere, in every shade and the scent of the various flowers are deliciously floating in the air.
And I love Autumn, the season we are entering into now. With the crisp morning air coupled with a bluer then blue clear sky, enticing us to venture out in our favorite sweater and cup of tea in hand. The yellows, oranges, reds, browns, dark greens, and purples are breathtaking to see. I don’t know about you, but all these colors make me want to create things!
How the mist comes off the lake in the mornings, highlighting the brilliant oranges…
how the changing leaves are in stark contrast to the dark bark of the trees,…
how the brown leaves crunch under your feet as you rake them into piles, just waiting to be jumped into,….
collecting the ruby red and green apples to press them into dark amber cider …..
c
and celebrating my favorite holiday with family, complete with all the colors and enticing aromas that make this season so memorable.
Oh yes, do I love Autumn!
