I don’t have a whole bunch of time, but I wanted to quickly share with you a site that I use weekly for school worksheets. We are more of an eclectic schooling family, finding whatever we can to serve our learning purpose. I get much of my stuff off the internet for two main reasons: 1. most of the information to be found is free (and if not, then the fee is very reasonable. And if I, el cheap’o homeschooling mother, say it’s reasonable, it really is!) and 2. our local public library librarians hate dislike cringe-when-we-walk-in-the-door love our family, but we often lose misplace their books and so I find it best not to go there. Yes, we do use more ink from the printer, but most printer have the option of changing the amount of ink you use. For example: I made it in an option to do “school printing” which means it uses less ink, no color, and it’s very quick in printing.
Here is a run down of my favorite sites to visit and use: (some of these sites you need Adobe to download the PDF of the worksheets)
Enchanted Learning: (you can visit that site by clicking of the button my right side bar) This site has member and non-members. The non-members can still print many pages for free, but some are not accessible. For site members (of which I am), you pay $20 a year or $36 for two years and there are no restrictions of where you can go and what you can print out. I am a believer in free stuff, but I use this site weekly and I find the money is well worth it. However, it is more of a main stream site, so you will find articles about evolution woven throughout. Filter where and as needed.
Super Teacher Worksheets: I use this site for the children’s spellings lists and some math worksheets. I also like it for the kindergarten stuff. It has all grade levels and all the subjects you will need. This site is totally free.
TLS Books: This site is another good one for all subjects and all grades. It is totally free, as well.
incompeTECH: This is a site that has free different kinds graph paper.
Hand writing: This is a nice to site to use to make your own hand writing practice worksheets. It has print D’Nealian, and cursive styles. These worksheets are free.
Here are some good free coloring/craft worksheet sites, too:
http://www.dltk-kids.com/ : this site has free worksheets and crafts for all ages to do!
http://www.toddlertoddler.com/ : this is a good site for ideas to do with your toddler.
http://www.papersnowflakes.com/ : this is an awesome site for making snow flakes!! You download the free snow flake pattern and cut away! It says it is for young children, but some of the patterns are difficult even for an adult. The various pattern options (like a 2 sided snow flake) are on the right side bar. (here is a sister site that is good for young children)
Did I mention that I like FREE?
