20 quirky things about me

1. If things are out of order, messy or unorganized, I get grumpy easier. When things are (relatively) clean and organized, if feel so much better.

2. I always wet my tooth brush after the toothpaste is on it. Never before it.

3. When I talk on the phone, I usually pace. I don’t know why, but I do. So if you talk to me and I sound like I’m out of breath, well… now you know why.

4. When I was younger, I somehow knew my future husband would be taller then me (Adam is 6’) and have dark eyes (Adam has dark moss color green eyes). I also knew that he would either be a preacher or a farmer. Can you guess which one he is not?

5. I really enjoy cutting up fabric into various pieces and then sewing them back together.

6. I would much rather make a whole new garment then to mend the old one. I dislike mending that much!

7.  I don’t believe in luck. Luck leaves things to happenstance. This is false. God is in control of everything and everything is in His control.

8. I am sarcastic by nature. Not mean sarcastic, just good natured sarcastic. Since Adam is as well, it makes for some really interesting conversations between us.

9. I’ve always looked older than I actually am. That really worked for me when I was 16. I wonder if I’ll begin to look younger than I am as I get older….

10. I love change! When I was younger, my hair took the brunt of that need. Now? The furniture in our house takes the brunt.

11. Breakfast is really difficult for me to cook. Not to eat, but to cook.

12. I am looking forward (and hoping to) fill up our 15 passenger van.

13. I used to really dislike the name “Adam”, but in the last 12 years or so, it’s grown on me.

14. I like coffee okay. But I really like tea! Green tea, herbal tea, flavored tea,… I like them all!!!

15. I have always wanted a Jersey cow. But we live in town and cows aren’t really a wanted commodity around here.

16. I’ve got a thing for black licorice (thank you Mayo’s for your wonderful surprise!!! ). It likes me and I really like it back.

17. I’m not so good with “thank you” cards, even though I am thankful. That’s something the Mayo family has already figured out. I still have unsent and not-quite-finished “thank you’s” from our wedding and our wedding was awhile ago….

18. I’m not much of a sweets person. I like salty more. If given the choice of cookies or popcorn? I’d take the popcorn anytime.

19. After 11 years, I have ceased to fold Adam’s undershirts. Now I just throw them in the drawer. But I still fold his underwear and roll his socks. Go figure.

20. All shirts (yes! Even the t-shirts!), dresses, jumpers and dress pants are hung up in our house. I sorely dislike stuffing clothes in drawers. Only underclothes, pj’s, undershirts, socks, and the boys jeans are in drawers. “Cause Mama said so!”.
