This morning, as I grudgingly opened my eyes, I clamped them shut again as waves of pain rocked me from side to side. Oh, how my stomach hurt! So much for going to church. I hate missing church! Adam is teaching a gourmet cooking class today after church, (which I’m totally bummed about missing, too) so I was thinking, “how in the world am I going to take care of 5 children when I can’t even sit up?”. I did the only thing I could at that moment: I prayed. And He delivered. I about 45 minutes, I was able to get out of bed and take a much needed shower ( I also had a fever all night and was a bit damp).
It’s almost 3pm now and I’m still feeling fine. Thank you Lord! The children are all still coughing, but the fevers have all gone, except mine. But I can deal with a fever. Nathaniel is still having no symptoms of any kind. God is good! We are praying that Adam will not get sick either. He has to work all week (of course) and this next weekend, is the annual “Sweet Heart Banquet” that we cook for. It’s certainly not a good weekend to get sick.
So while I was thinking of putting up the white flag this morning, I’m happy to report that it is not waving yet.
