There are many firsts’ in life. Your first step, your first word, the first time you use a cup, the first time you get to drive, your first day of junior high…Your first child is a good one. Take mine for instance. Boy, is she a fire cracker! Peolpe say I have my hands full, but they don’t know the half of it. Well, maybe they do. They’re looking right at her! And she only has 10 of the 40 little fingers I have to kiss and keep clean ~ and clean up after!
But she really is a good child. I will admit, sometimes I have to look really close to find it; but, thankfully, that is not every day. I don’t understand why people, esp. Christians, don’t want children. They really are a heritage of the Lord. Yes, you have to teach them and yes, there are sacrifices to be made. But, come on. Aren’t these faces worth it all?
(this is Grace when she was under 2)
Today is my first day of school. But now I’m on the other side. Yes, I homeschool, so “our” first day of school was last Monday. But today, I’m running with the big dogs. I’m teaching a home-ec class at the christian school. There will be 5 girls in the class for the credit and 3 more girls will join us for 30 min or so when we cook/bake. And I know the girls, so it won’t be bad . But I’m a bit nervous. Most of these girls can barely boil water, let alone cook something in it. This is what the class is for, I suppose. We will cook/bake for the first semester and then turn to sewing the last semester. I think that will more of an adventure then cooking will be.
Well, gotta’ run. I have 4 children outside (I watch my 4 year old nephew during the day) and they are a little too quite.
By the way, have you ever gottne head-butted from a toddler? This is the last thing you will see:
